Support during collection of Applications and Evaluations has been provided by the INF-ACT Foundation.

CALL DESCRIPTION AND OBJECTIVES

This call concerns the study of the microbiota and pathobiota of arthropod vectors carrying emerging pathogens in Italy and Europe, with specific reference to the interactions among different components, their role in determining adaptation to environmental conditions and vector competence, and the potential development/application of symbiont-based control strategies.

Projects responding to this call should aim to enhance the knowledge about the role of microbiota in the biology of vector insects, in relation to pathogen transmission and the control of diseases transmitted by them.
