Cecilia Garlanda

Cecilia Garlanda is group leader at Humanitas Research Hospital, in Milan, where she leads the Experimental Immunopathology Lab, as well as full professor of Clinical Pathology and Adjunct Professor of Medical Microbiology at Humanitas University, Pieve Emanuele (MI). She is an immunologist, focused on innate immunity and regulation of inflammation. Major topics of her research are the roles of the long pentraxin PTX3 and complement in innate immune responses to pathogens, their diagnostic/prognostic potential in infections, including COVID-19, and the roles of regulators of the interleukin-1 system in immune responses.
