ACT4TRAIN ACADEMY

In a highly dynamic healthcare context, continuous upskilling is key to driving scientific and industrial innovation. ACT4TRAIN-ACADEMY is designed to serve as a benchmark of excellence for Advanced Training in Innovative Diagnostic Approaches and Technologies. The ACT4TRAIN training programmes aim to enhance the competitiveness and innovation capacity of strategic healthcare value chains, fostering industrial development in Southern Italy and helping to bridge the regional gap.

THE TRAINING PROGRAMME

ACT4TRAIN ACADEMY offers an advanced, flexible, and highly customizable training programme that combines theory and hands-on practice.

  • Advanced Theoretical Training delivered in person and/or remotely
  • Intensive Practical Training: Cutting-edge laboratory sessions to apply acquired skills in real-world settings.
  • Study and Site Visits: Field-based experiences and networking opportunities at leading centres of excellence.

Objectives of the ACT4TRAIN training programme:

  • Theoretical and Multi-Omics Skills: Provide in-depth knowledge of omics sciences and multidisciplinary strategies to drive research and industrial development in the healthcare sector.
  • Bioinformatics and Artificial Intelligence: Develop skills in the use of bioinformatics pipelines and AI tools to integrate multi-omics data and identify relevant biological alterations.
  • Therapeutic and Diagnostic Targets: Develop the ability to build molecular interaction models to identify novel targets for drug development and diagnostic systems.
  • Soft Skills and Hands-On Approach: Strengthen problem-solving and critical-thinking skills through practical case studies, while enhancing interdisciplinary collaboration and the communication of complex data.

 

WHO IS IT FOR?

The training programme is primarily intended for researchers, professionals, and staff affiliated to SMEs:

  • based in Sicily, Sardinia, Campania, Calabria, Puglia, Basilicata, or Molise;
  • who have participated (as Spokes, Affiliates, and/or beneficiaries of cascade funding calls) in research programmes funded under the PNRR – M4C2 (Research Ecosystems, National Centres, and Extended Partnerships).

The courses will also be open to researchers and professionals working at SMEs based in other Italian regions, as well as to early-career researchers and technical-scientific staff from universities, public research institutions, IRCCS, hospitals, diagnostic laboratories, research centres, and technological infrastructures active in the fields of biomedicine, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, bioinformatics, immunology, virology, oncology, or related disciplines.

 

TEACHERS

The lectures will be delivered by a carefully selected network of high-profile experts from leading public and private organizations in the field, ensuring the perfect balance between scientific rigor and market-oriented approaches.
