Marta De Angelis

Marta De Angelis is a virology researcher at the Department of Molecular Medicine of Sapienza University of Rome. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences and a Master’s degree in Genetic and Molecular Biology. Since her PhD in Life Sciences, the main research interest has been in the field of virus-host interactions, particularly investigating the pathogenic mechanisms underlying respiratory virus infections. Her studies focus on the identification of intracellular factors that are modulated during viral infections, which in turn activate redox-sensitive pathways involved in the regulation of inflammatory response and viral replication; the aim of her research activity is to develop new "cell-targeted" antiviral approaches. The INF-ACT Early Career Award represents a great opportunity for my professional development and to pursue my research activity with enthusiasm.
